Kimmel BaGilboa
About This Spot
Stepping into Kimmel BaGilboa feels like finding a quiet retreat nestled in one of Israel’s greenest corners. Situated in the serene ski complex of Gilboa, the restaurant welcomes you with a calm that invites slowing down—away from the rush, surrounded by gentle hills and the soothing presence of the Asi River nearby. There’s an unhurried rhythm here that encourages lingering over each moment, as the warm interiors subtly reflect the landscape outside, marrying nature with hospitality.
The atmosphere balances a refined, almost European sensibility with a deep connection to local roots. It’s a place where thoughtful attention meets genuine ease, where expertly crafted dishes emerge not just from the kitchen but from the moods of the place itself. The menu mirrors this blend — each plate evokes the season’s best offerings, from earthy mushroom risottos to delicate seafood that feels freshly harvested. You can sense a careful choreography of flavors designed to complement the landscape, whether you’re savoring a rich beef stroganoff or indulging in a light dessert that ends the meal on a quiet, joyful note.
Dining here is a subtle celebration of the senses, amplified by the hospitality you find in every interaction. The staff’s attentive presence makes it feel less like a formal affair and more like sharing a thoughtfully prepared meal in a friend’s home, where the rhythm of service matches the ease of the surroundings. While it leans toward a particular grace, it remains approachable, inviting visitors to savor without ceremony, appreciating the details rather than the rush.
For those who value more than just taste — moments where food, place, and company harmonize — Kimmel BaGilboa offers a quietly memorable experience. It’s a spot for those who come to connect: with the land, with carefully chosen wine, and most importantly, with a sense of relaxed attentiveness that stays long after the meal ends.

What an amazing place! I’ve lived in New Orleans and had wonderful meals at some of the best restaurants - the chef’s table at Commander’s, the Degustation at Emeril’s, etc. This place is at the top of the list, a fantastic find thanks to our friends in the area who knew about the place. The service was fantastic, and the food was perfect - just the right blends of flavors, fresh off the farm, and with presentations that would delight the world’s finest gastronomes! Everything from the bread and salad to the final dessert was perfectly delivered for our dining pleasure, and our only regret is that we don’t get to this area often enough to eat here on a regular basis. Bravo, Chef!!!

So outstanding!!! Everything, and I mean everything, was 5 stars. This is no coincidence; it is an attitude, a way of life. The restaurant scenery and location are like taken from the nicest place in Europe. The staff was friendly and very well trained. House wine... exquisite and at good price. Dishes... best you can expect. No mistakes; delicious, deep, and interesting. Good variety of wines and beers. Prices more than fair for this level. I will definitely return as many times as I can.

Came with great expectations. Location very nice. We irdered 3 antrequits, and pargit steaks, for startess we had carpachio, liver pate. The carpachio was average, the pate was great, only not enough toasts, and they wrere too small. The steaks were ok, but nothing to shout about, had much better for less money.... The service was not consistance, we had 3 waiters wait on us, and one was very good, one was really bad, and one was ok. The atmosphere inside could gave bven much much bettet if they would have taken care of the acoustics. So we had to nove outdoors, before we get a headache.

This is my first visit to Israel and the first restaurant I dined at in Israel and boy oh boy - I will never forget my experience here. Everything from the ambience to the food, the wine and above all the staff of this beautiful restaurant. Located in the historic area of Gilboa, it’s right next to the Olives Hotel. You may as well ask for the Olives Hotel and you will find this restaurant easily. The restaurant name is displayed in Hebrew so I had to ask for the staff to find it for me on Google and they gladly obliged. First let me tell you what’s good about this restaurant- EVERYTHING!!! The staff helped me sample the local Israeli Merlot and Cabernet before I could make a choice and loved them both but personally I liked the Cabernet more. The menu is limited in choice but let me tell you this you will not be disappointed. The best part of eating in Israel their vegetarian food is as yum as the non- vegetarian. And this restaurant proved it. Their starters include salads, mushrooms, eggplant, et al. In my whole life I have never had a salad as good as the one I tried here. The greens, the walnuts, baby tomatoes, and apple slices was like a slice of heaven. Wow!!! Who would have thought salads could be this yum - the secret of course the dressing… The eggplant starter was out of this world too. For the mains I had fish and it could not be any more fresh. They also offer beef, lamb, salmon and other choices for the main course. I suggest you try this restaurant for dinner and try to pick a spot overlook the highway. It offers a beautiful nighttime view of the nearby village and the open landscape. Great wine, amazing food, beautiful view, lively ambience and interiors and surprisingly some 80s music in the background- what more can you possibly ask??? I also learnt what egalitarian means in Israel - the hotel staff that served me and my Israeli colleague were dressed in casual. Not one of them had a uniform that made them stand out as hotel staff. They could be one of you. And that I think is really cool. My Israeli friend thought the eggplant starter was a hint too salty for his taste and the staff offered to replace it immediately - no questions / no excuses. And they did not even bother tasting it before agreeing to replace it. I haven’t seen that ever before. Of course we did not replace it either - I thought the eggplant was out of this world. We cleaned out the plate - no problem!! I highly recommended you try this place but let me caution you - it is expensive!! But you don’t feel like complaining about the price after eating food that is simply YUM!! I am certainly having dinner here again whenever I get a chance to return to beautiful Israel…

delicious big portions. even though some of the ingredients weren't really needed, like why to add broccoli and green beans and potatoes and mushrooms and many other things over a gnocchi? keep it simple.. לכו על הפילה דניס, לא תצטערו
